When bare feet smile
Summer begs
my feet roam free;
Verdant and lush,
a prickled
velvet carpet
their bounty.

It's been quite a while since I joined Laura Salas' 15 Words or Less poetic challenge and I'm feeling the creative void. Here's my offering for today's photo prompt (please click the icon below if you'd like to join in or simply learn more).
It's been a few weeks since I participated with Laura's weekly poetry challenge, and
the way my day is stacking up, I needed a creative start. Her photo is below, and here is my "15-words-or-less" poem that wrote itself as soon as I saw it :). Why don't you give it a try this week! If nothing comes to mind in a few minutes, just skip it til next!
"Let me in!"
Demands sin
A cracked door
Is all it takes.

Her smile masked
a broken
battered
heart,
deceiving no one
& everyone
but mostly
just herself.
My contribution for this week's poetry challenge, hosted each week by writer extraordinaire, Laura Salas.

Skimming through my reader, I saw Laura's photo prompt for this week's 15 Words or Less; the above 15 words spilled out of my head in response. Never tried 15 Words? You really should...it'll unleash your inner poet--the one you didn't know you had!

With all the giveaway madness of the week (and there are some good ones, y'all), I was desperate for creative writing; while I'm working on several "real" posts, they're a bit lengthy and none are complete (yet). Thanks to Laura Salas and her "15 words or less" poetry challenge. It was just the creative jolt I needed to chart my day.
Which reminds me: I haven't forgotten Pensieve's Poetic License (for anyone who has wondered)--it'll be back next week. If you're a poet, a poet wannabe or just a curious cat, I sure hope you'll take part.

Please visit Laura Salas today to learn more about her weekly 15-word poetry challenge. Economy of words is NOT my strong-suit, so this is a wonderfully creative personal exercise in brevity.
This poem--
In response to this photograph posted at Laura Salas today for 15 words or less poems--

And I'm wondering if you have any idea what I was thinkin' about when I wrote it. Comment your guesses--this might be fun, funny...or a downright BUST!
REVISED: LOVED YOUR GUESSES AND A FEW OF YOU WERE SPOT ON! The title? "Politics". Hehe...small wonder that's what's on my mind :).
