When bare feet smile

Summer begs
my feet roam free;
Verdant and lush,
a prickled
velvet carpet
their bounty.

Dominoes, effectual

I can't help but wonder if my message is clear this week.  Bueller?  Bueller?

Domino

Mastery of play
is youth's fountain;
Its drought
withers the young.

Eden and after

It's been quite a while since I joined Laura Salas' 15 Words or Less poetic challenge and I'm feeling the creative void. Here's my offering for today's photo prompt (please click the icon below if you'd like to join in or simply learn more).

                        God...
                                        imaginatively created,
                                        abundantly blessed,
                                        generously provided,
                                        painfully sacrificed for,

The secret door

It's been a few weeks since I participated with Laura's weekly poetry challenge, and 15 words or less the way my day is stacking up, I needed a creative start.  Her photo is below, and here is my "15-words-or-less" poem that wrote itself as soon as I saw it :).  Why don't you give it a try this week!  If nothing comes to mind in a few minutes, just skip it til next!

tree trunk

"Let me in!"
Demands sin
A cracked door
Is all it takes.

Darkness reigns

in hollowed chambers,
a stony heart
replaced by softened flesh.
Light-diffusing Life.

a broken

deceiving no one

& everyone

but mostly

just herself.

Alien fruit

Looking at a pomegranate,
I'd swear they're from another planet
Grimaced smirk--
They look berserk!

15_words_or_less_poems_button Skimming through my reader, I saw Laura's photo prompt for this week's 15 Words or Less; the above 15 words spilled out of my head in response.  Never tried 15 Words?  You really should...it'll unleash your inner poet--the one you didn't know you had!

With all the giveaway madness of the week (and there are some good ones, y'all), I was desperate for creative writing; while I'm working on several "real" posts, they're a bit lengthy and none are complete (yet).  Thanks to Laura Salas and her "15 words or less" poetry challenge.  It was just the creative jolt I needed to chart my day.

Which reminds me:  I haven't forgotten Pensieve's Poetic License (for anyone who has wondered)--it'll be back next week.  If you're a poet, a poet wannabe or just a curious cat, I sure hope you'll take part.

Amen?

Fragrant aroma, intrinsic beauty,
Postured Godward--
A single-bloom reminder
Worship
Is not about me.

Is it obvious?

This poem--

Mangled illusion
Covert collusion
Believing delusion
Sometimes exclusion
Elitist profusion
Twisted conclusion
State of confusion

In response to this photograph posted at Laura Salas today for 15 words or less poems--

And I'm wondering if you have any idea what I was thinkin' about when I wrote it.  Comment your guesses--this might be fun, funny...or a downright BUST!

REVISED:  LOVED YOUR GUESSES AND A FEW OF YOU WERE SPOT ON!  The title?  "Politics".  Hehe...small wonder that's what's on my mind :).
