American Idol or Icon?
Is there anyone in America (the world? Mars??) who doesn't know what these are attached to? I can't imagine. The Golden Arches are a slice of Americana (albeit a deep-fried, salty, heart-attack-waiting slice...).
"Idol" is defined as an object worshiped or an object of extreme devotion. Dieting in our country has become a $65 BILLION industry; with over 60% of Americans suffering from obesity or overweight, it's clear food is worshiped and we're devoted to our appetites. I guess when Ray Kroc said, "We take the hamburger business more seriously than anyone else" he meant it. Doubtful he could've anticipated the repercussions....

Someday there will be a graveyard of golden arches. I am not sure what could replace the purely American symbol in representing the fast food generation. They sum it up pretty good.

This made me laugh because I can remember my oldest grandson when he was tiny (we were trying to teach him the alphabet)knowing
M=McD's!

As a global brand, you have to admit that it's been pretty successful....however awful their food is!

Nice "yellow" find. Although I'm sure you didn't have to look far. When we were in China last year, you should have seen how excited some members of our travel group were to see these arches! I'm ashamed to admit that we caved to the pressure and ate there. Just once. Lily's one and only time eating under the golden "yellow" arches.
This project has me scanning for yellow now. From here all I see are post it notes and a highlighter. Gonna need some creative thinking to make that look good! :)

Doggoneit! I was just telling myself that I deserve a break today at McDonald's... Are you the messenger to tell me no? (Ummm, since I'm not overweight, I think I'll just pretend that I didn't read this post, okay?)
And personally, I love (but do not worship) their fries. Yummy!
