Flittin' & Buzzin' (Why girls are butterflies and boys are bees)

I was sitting at my kitchen table, uploading my final captures for Project Yellow, when these two guys decided to interrupt.

You can tell she's a girl because she gracefully and patiently waited for me to complete our photography session.  Almost 90 pictures later, I'm stunned by her delicate beauty.

Then this fella horned in on the action.
He couldn't be bothered with an extended photo shoot;
he lasted all of two pictures.
Still...I'm equally astounded by his allure.

Right about now, I'm thanking God for His unmatched imagination in creation, and...for my Nikon D-40.  That I could capture these creatures in flight
and produce this almost SOOC?
How can I be wordless even if it IS Wednesday?  ;)

Beautiful photos, I love them. You did a great job capturing them.

I usually visit you on TT. This is breath-taking!

Gorgeous pictures!

Happy WW!

Beautiful, beautiful photos. I want a camera like yours... but of course it still takes an eye and talent to get photos like this.

Great artistry in these pictures!

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME! My Wordless Wednesday isn't nature this week, but I have a LOT of spring photos on my blog over the last week or so. I'm having a blast.

wow, love the natural beauty!

These are both wonderful captures … my camera just couldn’t do this, period! I've got TWO (almost) Wordless Wednesday posts up finally ... one on each of my blogs ... using the One Single Impression prompt for Week 6: Stranded
Heliocopter Rescue
Polar Bears
Hugs and blessings,

WOW! Robin those are incredibly stunning! And the colors on that butterfly are ever so beautiful!
Great shots!

Bee-utiful photographs.

Wonderful colors and great 'action' shots !! :)

Unfortunately it reminds me of something not that delicate !!

Mohammed Ali ..who would " flit like a butterfly and sting like a bee" !!

I just had to come back over and surround myself with this beauty...prettiest place I've been.
Also, can't believe I won today...FIRST !
Please don't tell me you took these 'through' the window!

Wow! These are both such amazing photos! Great job!

That is SO gorgeous. One of the best I've seen today!

Wow!!! Nothing new to add to the above, just really wow. I. want. your. camera. (oh, nevermind, we all know it's not just the camera.)

wonderful pictures!

I love you blog.. And you take really awesome pics.. I am so glad I came across it..

Happy WW :)

Those pictures are amazing, that you can actually see the fuzz on that bee or hornet or whatever he is. Wow, I am in awe...

first of all: these are stunning. Makes me quadrupally mad at my @#$R% car that it stole my $1000 camera money I saved forever for.

I have photographed thousands of bumble bees (and this does not quite look like one but it does . . . ) and I have never seen green eyes! That's so cool!

Gorgeous!! Happy WW!

they are gorgeous. You're just lighting up the sphere

those pictures are really nice they look like they were taken by a professional

Nature's beauty amazes us in the most unexpected way!The amazing thing is that you were there to witness its unfolding!

Thanks for sharing the beauty.
