Blog Hop '10 ~ FAQs & MASTER LINKY!!

THANK YOU for joining PENSIEVE'S 3rd Annual Blog Hop! Created as an at-home opportunity for bloggers to meet and greet during BlogHer's annual conference, you'll definitely get out of it what you put in.  This page is designed to answer your questions, so if anything is unclear, please ask in comments.

What is the Blog Hop?

At its simplest, a blog carnival.  Bloggers are invited to write a short introductory post about themselves and their blog to introduce themselves and broaden their online community.  Intro posts are linked to the Blog Hop site and participants are encouraged to hop around and "meet" as many new friends as they're able to!

What should I include on my intro post?

Experience suggests it's best to keep your posts brief!  Give readers a general idea of your content, your passions and your personality.  Of course, it's up to you, but don't labor over your post--have fun!  Short IS sweet when you have hundreds of new friends to visit! :)

What do I link to the Blog Host master linky?

Your post's URL/permalink, NOT your main blog page.  Please, please make sure to do this; readers will get frustrated if they have to scroll your page to find your Blog Hop party post!

Can I host a giveaway with my Blog Hop post?

Sure!  Everyone loves to win prizes!  

There are so many people registered on the Linky list, how can I possibly get to everyone?

Don't try.  My best tip for maximizing your Blog Hop experience is to start with the blogs whose linky numbers end with the same number as yours!  For example, you link at #117; your first visit will be to 7, 17, 27, 37..107, 127...217, you get the picture.  

When does the Blog Hop end?

The Linky will be up FOREVAH...but you're encouraged to visit in earnest through the weekend.  Entries for giveaways will deadline Sunday at 11:59 EST.

Be sure to visit as many blogs as you can, READ the posts and comment generously.  It's the right thing to do ;) :).
